As a Snapchat+ subscriber, you’ll see a ’Best Friends’ badge with a gold ring around it on someone’s Friendship Profile. ‘Best Friends’ means they’re among the eight friends you Snap and Chat with the most.

Tapping on the badge will show you which planet you are in their Solar System, with each planet representing a different position in their Best Friends list. If you’re curious about the Snapchat Planets and what each planet signifies, understanding the ranking system can help you determine your closeness with a friend.

Solar System is off by default for first time subscribers. To begin using it, visit the Snapchat+ feature management page to toggle it on. It can be toggled on/off at any time.

The Solar System feature was enabled by default when it debuted. However, many people reported that it increased anxiety among teens. Snapchat tweaked the feature after receiving criticism, making it optional for Snapchat+ members. It doesn’t show other friends’ ratings. No one else can see it.

• Tap your profile icon.
• Select Snapchat+.

You can’t see someone’s solar system and their list of best friends. However, Snapchat offers an option to check if you’re one of the planets in your friend’s solar system. Follow the steps below.

For example, if it shows Mars, you are the person’s fourth best friend on Snapchat. There is also a slight difference between Best Friends and Friends badges.
